TRAIL & TRAVEL
Enduro, trail riding and travel
Between the closed circuit and the road ride sits a whole category of use: trail riding through forest, an enduro special, an adventure bike loaded for ten days. Each has its own constraints, and the first one is legal.
These guides cover what gets prepared before leaving: where riding off-road is actually allowed, how to prepare a machine for a trip where the nearest workshop is three hundred kilometres away, how to haul a bike in a van or trailer without damaging it, and which GPS route apps hold up with no signal.
Touring use also stacks up engine hours far faster than weekend riding: eight hours a day for ten days is eighty hours, the equivalent of several months of ordinary use.
