GETTING STARTED
Getting started in motocross and enduro
Starting off-road means three decisions taken in no particular order: which machine, which gear, and where you are allowed to ride. Getting the first one wrong is expensive; getting the second one wrong is worse.
These guides take the path in order: picking a capacity that matches your size and level rather than your ambition, putting together full gear without spending the price of the bike, preparing a first ride so it goes well, understanding what a licence covers, and building the fitness that decides how the last twenty minutes go.
They also cover age and capacity for children, a subject where opinions circulate far more freely than the federation's actual rules.
